Hi Friends! I’m excited to share with you today my conversation with Edrina Burnette. Her husband Dan is the strength and conditioning coach for the NC State football team. In this episode we talk about faith, family, her passion for serving through sewing and the small business that has come from that- AND life as a coach's wife!
I have loved hearing from our special guests these past few weeks- from Farrah Sinclair, with her passion to serve her community through her DIY studio, and Edrina, our guest today, who is using her creative skills to serve others in a unique way. It is amazing that we have all been given gifts and abilities to use for the Lord! If you are not yet sure what they are or how to use them, my prayer is that you will get some ideas as you listen in today. I know you will be encouraged by this conversation!
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."

Dear Friend,
I’m excited to share my conversation with Farrah Sinclair. Her husband Scott is the Director of Strength and Conditioning for the University of Georgia Football team. They have been married for almost 22 years, and have a 20 year-old son and a 17 year-old daughter. Their football journey has taken them from GA Tech to the University of Central Florida, then to Marshall University and then to UGA where they are entering their 10th season. In this episode, we talk about faith, family, her DIY studio and life as a coach’s wife. I know you will be encouraged and inspired by this conversation!
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

Dear Friend,
In today’s episode, I just wanted to quickly share about a 3-week class we are offering called strength and conditioning for coaches’ wives. Even if you can’t join in this time around, I wanted to share the details and the heart behind this opportunity.
My husband is a football coach and a strength and conditioning coach, and we’ve talked before about the importance of the weight room. That the success journey of any athlete, or any team of any sport begins with the strength training- strengthening and conditioning the body for a specific purpose. This 3 week class is designed to do this for your spiritual health, so that in whatever you have been called to do....“you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need.“ Colossians 1:11
And if you don’t know where you are in your faith, OR what your purpose is- don’t worry! That is part of it too. We won’t be able to cover everything in 3 weeks, but we will be able to lay a foundation, and it’s short and sweet to fit the busy coaching lifestyle! I hope you can join us!
“For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things…” 1 Timothy 4:8 (NIV)

32 | Jesus Under Pressure

Tuesday Apr 15, 2025

Tuesday Apr 15, 2025

Dear Friend,
The coaching life can be an emotional journey, and not just because of the highs and lows of wins and losses. It is a life often filled with intense pressure, unexpected transitions and what might appear to be unanswered prayers and unfulfilled career goals and dreams. You may be currently waiting to know if you will be moving, if there is a transition coming, if your kids will be changing schools, and your friends and family may not even understand what you are going through- it is a difficult season to walk through.
However, we can find comfort because Jesus Himself was “...a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief...” (Isaiah 53:3), and before His death, He cried out to His Father in the Garden of Gethsemane, wrestling with the reality of death before Him. The name Gethsemane (“gat shemanim” in Hebrew), means “oil press”, and it is impossible to comprehend the immense pressure He felt as He carried the weight of the sin of the world to the cross.
So as we celebrate Christ’s victory over sin and death this Easter season, may we also remember that our Savior understands pressure, struggle and agony, and He is with us through whatever gardens we are being called to walk through. He is the resurrection and life, He is all about freedom and joy and eternal glory, but He also understands weakness and pain and surrender, and He has given us a beautiful example of what it looks like to honor the Father while wrestling with the Father’s will.
So thankful for Jesus, our Savior! Happy Easter & blessings to your family!
Love to you all,
💕Candace

Dear Friend,
Knowing Jesus, His power, His person and His precious love for us changes everything. And to make it all possible, Jesus came to earth and took action, showing us His saving power, but also telling us things about Himself. Jesus called Himself by different titles using illustrations and examples throughout the gospels - so helpful for us as we seek to know Him more!
So today we are going to look at some of those titles from the book of John, and I have a simple outline to share that can help us grow in our prayer and praise of Him. And BONUS 🎉 as we grow in our understanding of who Jesus is, we will be better able to weave in and out of our own various titles and roles, hiring and firing experiences and even seasons of motherhood with a little more stability, because our identity will be more firmly established in Him!

Love to you all,
💕Candace

30 | Jesus & Our Daily Lives

Tuesday Apr 01, 2025

Tuesday Apr 01, 2025

Dear Friend,
The name Jesus comes from the Hebrew word Yeshua which means Yahweh saves. We know that He is THE Savior, and our only hope of eternal salvation. However, we need Jesus as the Savior of all the things in our daily lives as well! It’s easy to look to ourselves, other people and other things as “functional saviors” instead of the One who is there to rescue, deliver and save us in the midst of our daily trials and challenges.
This is what I’ve been wrestling with this week, and meditating on the name of Jesus has been so impactful. I’m excited to share with you today and I hope you enjoy EPISODE 30!!
Love to you all,

Dear Friend,
As we continue our series, talking about identity in Christ and being all about the name of Jesus, I wanted to share with you a testimony that is very special and personal to me. Our son Andrew recently shared his story at the school where my husband coaches, and today’s episode is an audio recording of that night.
What has happened in Andrew’s life is something that only the Lord can do, and I hope you will be encouraged to keep praying for your loved ones. Keep praying in the name of Jesus for your family, regardless of how dark the circumstances and hopeless things might seen. There is no other name by which we are saved, (Acts 4:12) and there is no parenting skill or wisdom of man that can compare to the power of Jesus.
Love to you all,
💕Candace
P.S. A great song to worship with as you pray over your family is “I speak Jesus” by Charity Gayle, found in our playlist! "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe” Proverbs 18:10

Tuesday Mar 18, 2025

Dear Friend,
Once you start looking for references to name, image and likeness in the Bible, you will literally see them everywhere. It is very clear that names are important to God, in fact, calling things by name is God’s idea- He even named the stars! (Psalm 147:4) However, in the greatness of who He is, it’s easy to forget how personal He is as well. So if you are feeling overlooked, overwhelmed or overcome by the chaos of life, you can know that the Lord of all creation cares about the smallest details in our lives. He calls us by name, giving us identity, purpose and security because we belong to Him.
But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” - Isaiah 43:1-3

Dear Friend,
In our world today, NIL, social media and other cultural shifts have made it more challenging to be a coaching family. Most of us got into the profession with a love of the game, a love for the athletes, and a desire to help them to succeed both on and off the field. That can still happen, and it is happening! I know God is using you and your coach even if you don’t always see it! But there are more business components now, which means more rules to follow, more hats to wear and more time required.
However, there are also more opportunities to bring the gospel into the mission field of sports than ever before. And we can acknowledge to the Lord (sometimes in tears!), that it’s really hard to keep up with it all and to keep our eyes on Jesus! But the Lord reminds us in His Word that the ultimate goal of everything is to lift Him up, and He is with us in all that we do. He made us in His image, after His likeness, for the glory of His name, and that’s what we are going to be talking about in this podcast and through our Bible studies. Even our boutique items will be reflecting this theme, because it is so so important AND so foundational and so full of encouragement and hope! We were created by Him, for Him and with a purpose- and He is always with us!
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26

Tuesday Nov 19, 2024

Dear Friend,
I can’t believe that we are already wrapping-up Season 2! I am so thankful for our guests this season and the opportunity we’ve had to go through the book of Ephesians together! I will be sharing a little today about what’s upcoming for Coaches’ Wives Ministry.
I will also be sharing some of what I’ve been walking through personally these past few years since we launched as a ministry, and what I’ve been learning with Jesus through some very difficult seasons. I pray you will be encouraged through it, and that even if you are entering into a season of transition, job loss or battles of any kind, that your heart will be strengthened by His Word to stand firm.
“...in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 8:37-39
